The Hunger Games: Movie Review

Well DAMN.

I am a major fan of The Hunger Games series and I absolutely adore it with all of my heart.

This movie.....was good.

It wasn't like "OH EM GEE!!! ITS SUPER FANTASTICAL!!" But rather it's like, well it followed the book relatively well....hmm

I think this movie id a good job in portraying the book and what I personally was imagining whilst reading the series, it all came to life and it made me really happy to see it and know that honestly, that's what I expected.
I definitely loved how they didn't focus on Peeta and Katniss as a couple or whatever the hell because lets face it, it's not a stupid love story.

I felt like they should have kept Madge in the story because quite honestly, even though she wasn't like MAJOR to the storyline, she was still a character that did a lot to progress the series.

I didn't like how they shot the film... it's a lot of jumlby mess which makes it hard to focus. I didn't like how they didn't pay much attention to the government and the underlying notion that Katniss was the face of a budding revolution slash rebellion. I definitely didn't like how they played out the second half of the movie that actually takes place in the Arena....and I DEFINITLEY don't like how Katniss was so emotional.

I think Jennifer Lawrence was amazing at playing Katniss but I do resent how she was shown as someone who is so blinded by determination at one moment and then a hot crying mess the next. Katniss is a badass who is calculating and direct. She doesn't look at the world the same way as others do and she definitely sees no reason in tears or fear.

DAMN.

But I loved the emotion that came out of Prim, although I don't remember her screaming really...maybe it's just been a while since I last read the books, but on the screen it made me tear up just a teeny tiny bit! It was so heartfelt and beautiful and it was just an amazing moment to experience.

I also got a wee but teary when Rue died OHMYGOODNESS. Rue was so cute....oh man.

Cato was dumb...he was just one of those kids who thinks they're all that and a bag of potato chips. Bad acting on Alexander Ludwigs part.

I love how everything was so stark in contrast from the reaping to the city. So bland, pale, and colorless and then you get to the city and WHAM. COLOR.

No matter what I recommend this movie, it was still entertaining and it played well to the book. Honestly, I didn't even think about the things I didn't like about the film until a day or so later after thinking about what I'd seen and realizing what was left out and getting over the hype of seeing it in a crowded theater.
